My name is Dan, I have been running for a few years. Currently training to break a 3 hour marathon. This site is designed to share what I have been learning about running and to help others with their journey.
I first got into running in 2021 when Covid lockdowns shut the doors on gyms.
I decided that I needed a challenge for myself that year and committed to 75 Hard. Since gyms were closed I got into running.
Growing up I hated running, everything about it. I always got cramps as a kid and I found it boring. I used to think that the only reason to run was for sports, as a biproduct but not for its sole purpose. I never understood why someone would go run just for the sake of running.
Fast forward to Covid, it took me about 2 months of running 4 times per week for 45 minutes before I started to enjoy it. By the end of 75 Hard I decided that I should attempt a Half Marathon.
However since it was still Covid, no races were happening in the fall of 2021! My wife made up an makeshift course (not boston qualified thats forsure!), in October 2021 I completed my first unofficial half marathon! I was stoked. As soon as I completed it I decided that I would run my first Marathon the next year.
In June of 2022 I ran my first Marathon with a time of 4 hrs 45 mins.
And I was hooked.
Fast forward, I have a few races under my belt with the primary goal of breaking 3 hours in the Marathon.
